Find Whitfield County Court Dates

Start with the right court. That is the first step in any Whitfield County court calendar search. Dates here are split across the Superior Court of the Conasauga Judicial Circuit, Magistrate Court, Probate Court, Juvenile Court, and four municipal courts, and no single list covers a person's case. The circuit master calendar shows judges, courtrooms, divisions, and hearing blocks, yet it works at that level only. For one matter, a docket entry or a case-specific notice gives the firmer date. When a notice, a citation, and an online source conflict, call the clerk handling that case and confirm which date stands.

The Whitfield County Court Calendar

The Whitfield Superior Court page posts a 2026 Master Court Calendar plus a holiday calendar. One PDF serves both Whitfield and Murray counties. Together they make up the Conasauga Judicial Circuit. Columns sort the entries by county, judge, courtroom, date, time block, setting type, division, and notes.

Remember what the master calendar is built for. A single criminal jury, motion, domestic, or arraignment block can hold dozens of cases. A block on the list is not a result. It does not show that any one case was called, continued, dismissed, or decided. Set it beside the latest notice and case proceeding before drawing conclusions.

The 2026 Conasauga Calendar

Skimming for the word Whitfield is a trap. The circuit PDF blends two counties, so confirm the county abbreviation on the same row as the date, judge, and setting. One more wrinkle exists. A judge card on the public page has carried a "2024 Master Calendar" label, while the Superior home page calls its link 2026. Open the PDF and check its title before you rely on either.

For routing, the calendar earns its keep. It shows which judge owns a block, which courtroom is in play, and whether the setting is criminal non-jury, grand jury, domestic, mental health, drug court, or something else. It still cannot replace a case notice.

Treat the document as a planning record. It reserves days for types of court work without naming every case, so county, judge, courtroom, and time belong together on one row. When a printed notice differs, ask the clerk which source is newest and whether a revised notice went out.

How to Find Your Court Date

Each access channel in Whitfield County covers a different slice. No single daily docket, public terminal feed, or countywide calendar API exists.

  1. Identify Superior, Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, or the issuing municipal court.
  2. Check the Superior master and holiday PDFs, the Magistrate case overview, or the city calendar and court page.
  3. Compare the date with the case notice, citation, or newest proceeding entry.
  4. Call the Superior judge or clerk line, Magistrate at 706-278-5052, Juvenile at 706-278-6558, or the responsible city clerk.
  5. Visit the courthouse counter or city court when an online source cannot resolve the conflict.

A written mail or email request can seek an existing record. The county's general open-records form, though, does not create or guarantee a future calendar.

Four Whitfield County Courtrooms

The county judge page pairs four Superior judges with four courtrooms. Chief Judge Cindy Morris sits in Courtroom 2, Judge Jim Wilbanks in Courtroom 3, Judge Scott Minter in Courtroom 4, and Judge Bert Poston in Courtroom 1. Their office numbers run 706-278-0047, 706-278-4251, 706-278-6713, and 706-278-3340 in that same order.

Assignments and staff contacts shift over time. A courtroom number helps you head the right way, but only the newest case notice confirms where you must actually report.

Reading a Whitfield County Court Setting

A setting is several fields stitched together. Read only the date and you can land in the wrong county, before the wrong judge, at the wrong time, or at the wrong type of session.

Date and DayThe scheduled calendar day, subject to later order or reset
CountyWhitfield or Murray within the circuit calendar
Judge and CourtroomThe assigned judicial officer and room for the block
TimeThe start of the listed session, not a promised case-call time
Setting TypeArraignment, motion, jury, domestic, pretrial, or another calendar block
NotesHoliday, term, division, or other scheduling context

In the Magistrate portal, Filing Date and Close Date are not hearing dates. Use the Proceedings tab to compare event entries against a master-calendar block.

PJ, CJ, and GJ in Whitfield County

The Conasauga calendar leans on shorthand. PJ means presiding judge. CJ marks a criminal non-jury block, and GJ means grand jury. You will also see DV, MHC, Drug Court, and CSEU/TPO, plus civil jury, criminal jury, motions, arraignments, uncontested, domestic, and pretrial settings.

PJ
Presiding-judge calendar shorthand.
CJ
Criminal non-jury setting block.
GJ
Grand-jury calendar block, not an individual outcome.
MHC
Mental-health-court setting.
Reset
A setting moved to another date that must be confirmed.

No code proves a plea, verdict, judgment, or dismissal. For outcomes, turn to the docket and signed orders.

Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations

A continuance or reset moves a setting; it never dismisses the case. Look for the new date in a proceeding row. A later notice, a revised calendar, or an emergency order can also carry it. The master calendar is published by blocks, so an unchanged block does not mean every case inside it stayed set.

Circuit-wide events can shuffle operations too. The January 25, 2026 Conasauga Judicial Circuit winter-storm order shows how a storm can move a whole docket. A holiday calendar can likewise explain a closed date. When sources clash, call before you travel or pay. Keep the newest written notice in hand.

Age matters for every source. A citation can predate a reset, an annual PDF can show a court block, and a portal row can log a continuance without the signed order attached. Ask the clerk whether a change touches one case, one courtroom, or the full circuit.

Whitfield County Municipal Schedules

Municipal dates live apart from the Superior calendar. Dalton holds court at the City Hall Council Chamber, 300 W Waugh Street, on Wednesdays. Its 2024 relocation notice listed arraignments Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. It listed no third Wednesday. Trials sat on the second and fourth Thursdays. Check the live page, though, since those details can change.

A city payment page is not proof of a court date. A city citation may never appear in the Magistrate search.

Cohutta's Whitfield County Calendar

The Cohutta court calendar is one of the few public city-level calendars anywhere in the county. Per Cohutta, municipal court meets twice monthly on Monday nights and starts at 6:00 p.m. The clerk keeps court-day hours of 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the after-hours clerk number is 706-463-8961.

A city calendar like this one is separate from the Conasauga circuit master PDF. A Cohutta date will not show up there as a matching entry. Check through the city's own channel. Before heading to court, verify the citation number. Also check the courtroom, start time, and the latest city notice.

What To Do If You Miss a Setting

Call the court named on the notice right away. Have the case or citation number, party name, scheduled date, and courtroom ready if you know them. Ask whether the clerk entered a warrant, an order, a reset, a payment restriction, or new appearance instructions. The online calendar may not show any of it.

Act promptly: A missed setting can have case-specific consequences. Only the responsible clerk or court can confirm the current status and next date.

The Whitfield County case search can pull up a public Magistrate proceeding when that applies. Call the issuing court if the portal and the notice disagree. Before you leave, confirm the case number, county, judge, room, setting type, and start time. Ask the clerk named on the notice. Do this every time. It matters most after a continuance. A holiday, an emergency order, or a new scheduling notice counts just as much.
